2021-22 Community Campaign Raises over $1.3M

MORE THAN $1 MILLION WAS RAISED IN THE ANNUAL COMMUNITY CAMPAIGN FOR UNITED WAY OF GRATIOT & ISABELLA COUNTIES FOR THE FOURTH YEAR IN A ROW. TOGETHER, THE TWO COMMUNITIES RAISED $1,365,771, AN INSPIRING 136.5% OF THE $1M 2021-22 COMMUNITY CAMPAIGN GOAL AND A SOLID GROWTH OF 11.86% FROM THE PREVIOUS CAMPAIGN.

“It has been amazing to see this kind of generosity during a time of increased stress on businesses, individuals and families,” shared Board President Jennifer White.

This year’s campaign total reflects how much our community truly cares about its residents and strives to improve the quality of life in Gratiot and Isabella Counties, White said.

United Way’s annual campaign is necessary for the agencies and organizations that rely on these funds. These campaign funds allow United Way to award community investment grants and offer matching grants to many local non-profit organizations focusing in the areas of education, financial stability (basic needs) and health. They also help United Way offer various direct service programs such as Stuff the Bus, Read United, PITCH-ER THIS! and more.

“Our annual Community Campaign is bigger than just one person or organization,” said Annie Sanders, President & CEO of United Way of Gratiot & Isabella Counties.

“It’s a powerful combination of individuals, organizations, businesses both large and small, United Way staff, board, and volunteers, all rising to the occasion and contributing to our organization’s mutual success. It makes me extremely proud of this community we all call home. We had over 6,300 donors this year and 8.59% increase in new donors.”

United Way’s Live United Awards & Campaign Celebration will take place on Thursday, May 19 at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort. This event is a celebration of the giving spirit of our communities and an opportunity for United Way to recognize and honor donors, workplace campaigns, signature partners and volunteers for their incredible work in Gratiot & Isabella Counties. Awards in the categories of Live United Awards, Campaign Excellence Awards, Excellence in Campaign Growth Awards, Platinum Partner Awards, Quality of Life Award and President’s Award will be given out. United Way will also be awarding “The Mumford Prize for Good” winner that evening to a deserving individual.
