Arts United is an Alma College event to raise money for United Way. During the show, you will be able to bid on a variety of artwork in the silent auction, as well as enjoy a variety of music, song, dance, painting and theatrical performances from both the local and Alma College communities. Join us Monday, March 18th, 2019 at the Heritage Center.
Community Leaders Mini-Conference
United Way is partnering with the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation to host a Community Leaders Mini-Conference at the Holiday Inn in Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday, February 26. Attendees will be the first to hear the results of the Community Needs Assessment that was conducted throughout 2018. After hearing the results, participate in a deeper dive conversation about one of the top needs that was brought forward. We have assembled panels of local experts in each of these areas. As the panel discussions wrap up, reconvene to hear about community collaboration as we tackle the pressing issues right here in our area.
Pop-Up Giving (PUG)
Join us at the Elks Lodge in Alma on Monday, February 4th for United Way's Pop-Up Giving (PUG) event! What's Pop-Up Giving? It's a collaborative giving event where YOU choose the winner. Your entry donation of $20 will be pooled to create a pot, United Way will then match that up to $5,000. Hear pitches from three local nonprofit organizations (to be announced) trying to win your vote.
PITCH-ER THIS! is a youth development competition for students in Gratiot and Isabella Counties. United Way will provide funding to the winning team(s) to help bring their idea to life. Event attendees and a panel of community leaders will vote for their favorite project. Ideas range from programs and events to technology and arts that will help people achieve their full potential through quality education, financial stability and healthy lifestyles.
