According to a recent Feeding America Hunger Study, some 11,560 people in Isabella County struggle with food insecurity. That's 16.6% of our population!
More than 500 local families visit food pantries in Isabella County each month. Our goal is to help local residents and families in need of supplemental food assistance through our annual "Knock Out Hunger" campaign.
United Way helps ensure that ample food can be purchased for Community Compassion Network's twice-monthly mobile pantries, daily meals are served at the Isabella Community Soup Kitchen, meals are delivered to home-bound senior citizens through Friends of Isabella Seniors and the shelves are stocked at the Rosebush Emergency Assistance Program and other local food pantries in Winn, Weidman, Shepherd and Mt. Pleasant.
100% of funds raised through this campaign will be used to provide supplemental food assistance to Isabella County residents through local food pantries and approved nonprofit organizations. Here's a look at what your financial support can do...
$2,500 — Heavyweight (sponsor one mobile food pantry)
$1,250 — Cruiserweight (sponsor 1/2 a mobile food pantry)
$500 — Middleweight (5,000 lbs. of food or 3,185 meals)
